A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of coordinating Ethan & Sarah’s wedding. can I just say, this couple, along with their families, are amazing. I have never felt so comfortable and loved during a time where I could potentially be stressed out! They were so great.  These people have a special place in my heart after spending many hours with them planning such a great evening. I have seldom met people who love Jesus and love people quite so well.

One of the things I was most excited about while coordinating their wedding was their photographer: Caroline Fontenot. I have seen her work from two or three other weddings in this area, and let me tell ya: the girl has got skillz. She was SO much fun to work with and so laid back. It did not feel like we were working along side one another at the wedding b/c she was SO stress free to work with. She just kind of did her thing, even helped pull other areas together. She (and her second-shooter/hubby, Mark) were awesome to work with. And the outcome: fabulous (read in a singing tune)!

Check it out for yourself and then book her for your next [insert event where you need pictures here].

Here is a link to Ethan & Sarah’s pictures. Enjoy 🙂

I need a vacation…

Like, real bad. I have not really had one for two years now. You know, when I say that, I feel really guilty. Because there are loads of people out there that work three jobs and never get a vacation. Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful, and I know that I am spoiled as well. And, I want a vacation. We are going on our next vacation during our 3 year anniversary. We are still trying to figure out where. Hopefully a beach some where.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?

Here are some pictures of my last two vacations with my honey:

Honeymoon in St. John

1 year anniversary in Charleston

Wow, look at the difference in my tan! I need some sun!

I love my dogs :)

Here are just a couple of pictures from mixing the Master Cleanse drink the other night. Pictures are always fun 🙂 And, I got to take them with my new camera, so that is even more fun.

What I have to drink in one day. And that is just the minimum!

The book we are reading suggests drinking an herbal laxative tea. (Have I started sharing too much yet? 😉

Me, trying to get excited about the laxative tea.

Tim, showing how excited he was for the laxative tea.

Here we go!

I didn't like the taste. And, btw, we had to take this picture a couple of times because I thought my reaction made my face a little too ugly. lol

Okay, so I am a major drama queen. This was not even the drink that is the detox. They just suggest pairing this to make the process “easier”. Okay, no more details on that, I promise. I mean, it doesn’t bother me, but I realize I might lose some of you if I do share 😉

Also, be expecting more photos on here now that I have this camera. I am excited!

lookey what I got!!

Pioneer Woman Cooks Cookbook!!!

Eat your heart out folks (ha, no pun intended)! I got the Pioneer Woman Cooks Cookbook for Christmas. My wonderfully amazing friend Mary gave this to me last night. I screamed! Seriously! I am SO excited about this! Just wanted to share.

What has been your favorite Christmas gift?

Getting a little intense

I am in the last two weeks of my first semester of grad school. Needless to say, things are getting a little intense. I pretty much get home from work and do homework until about Midnight, only to get up go to work and do it again the next day. Last night I was working on my laptop while sitting on my bed. The dogs love to just lay on our bed all day long.

This is what was sitting next to me:

Kansas and Me

Kansas and Me

How am I supposed to concentrate with this little bit of sweetness trying to cuddle with me?! I love when she does this. She will be looking off in the other direction when you look at her, then when you look away she will look at you. Then when you turn your head back away she will jerk her head away from looking at you. It is the cutest thing! I love this little darlin!

Tim, me, Diana, Necie, Megan & Josh

Tim, me, Diana, Necie, Megan & Josh

This is Tim (my husband), me, Diana (my sister), Necie (my other sister), Megan (Josh’s girlfriend) and Josh (my brother). I love them! We have so much fun together.

All of us

I went to visit the family in Nashville this past weekend. Josh works in construction management in Houston, TX building hospitals. Since he was going to be in, and I hardly ever get to see him (or Megan), I thought Tim and I should go see them and the rest of the family. We have so much fun when we are together.

Also, what you don’t see is my mom taking the picture. There is just a load of hilarity in that itself. She goes to aim the camera, and starts admiring the camera…forgetting about taking the picture. 😉

I love my family 🙂

The girls

I frequently refer to them as “the girls”. The two pictured above are my sisters (for those of you who are new to the blog). Man, I love these two.

I got to go visit the family this week. When I visit, I try to soak up as much time with these two as possible. To put it bluntly, I feel like I am missing out on them growing up. It breaks my heart. And, they are at a stage where they both like me. 🙂 This has not always been so, and I imagine will not always be. So, for now, I love on, cuddle with, give praise to and listen to these two as much as I can when I am around.

The one on the left hates to talk on the phone, and the one on the right seems to get embarrassed or too excited to be able to talk on the phone. So person-to-person is the way to go.

They are growing up SO fast. Necie, the one on the right, is in high school! She gets her driver’s permit in like 3-months! Holy cow! Okay, okay, I know I am starting to sound like an annoying parent gushing over her babies. Whatever, I love ’em.

Saturday Mom, the girls and I went shopping at several different stores. Then Tim and I took the girls bowling. It was so much fun. The power went out and we ended up playing games you would play around a camp fire. It was fun just to be with them. And they have a never ending list of things to do when you are bored. It was quite interesting.

Sunday we went to church then came home to have dinner with the whole family. Including Tim (my husband) and Megan (Josh’s girlfriend…Josh is my brother), we had eight people at the table! It was packed, but good times.

We were all coming together to celebrate Megan, Tim and Mom’s birthdays. Megan’s is 10/20, Tim’s 10/28 and Mom’s 11/09. Josh lives in Texas and I live 6 hours away, so we are rarely all together anymore. Next time will be Christmas… I think.

Anyway, that was my weekend.

What about your’s?

This past week I had the privilege to attend the Catalyst Leadership Conference in Atlanta. It was amazing. I’ll admit, I was wiped out after just the first day, but it was all incredible. The Lord revealed so many things to me during this conference, things that were not even spoken on. Not even close to being spoken on. HE really is wonderful.

The “things” that were revealed, I am not yet ready to share. They were personal convictions. Things I am going to be hashing out and praying over for possibly years to come. Please pray for me. Pray that I will actually face these issues. Already I have lost the motivation to deal with these issues. I have been hiding from them for years, it is so easy to do now. Please pray for strength. The upcoming times will be difficult for me. Really difficult. I don’t even know which step to take next. I know that I am not really telling you anything, sorry.

Some other great things happened to. probably my favorite was seeing Mac Powell from Third Day sing with the African Children’s Choir. I loved that 🙂

Now back to balancing my check book…
